My love for crafting comes from a family tradition that has traveled through generations, shaping who I am and what I create today. One of my grandmothers taught me crochet when I was very young. At the time, I was too little to fully comprehend it, but the experience planted curiosity and helped build the muscle memory that would make picking up crochet later in life much easier. My other grandmother introduced me to knitting, creating dresses and intricate pieces that inspired me to explore different ways of making and imagining. Both of them gave me not just skills, but memories, values, and a sense of wonder that I carry into every project.
My godmother brought another layer of inspiration by introducing me to beading. Her gifts of materials and encouragement fueled my curiosity, creativity, and willingness to experiment. My mom has always been incredibly versatile in her artistry—sewing, paper crafts, drawing—and watching her taught me that creativity has no limits. My sister, born with a remarkable talent for drawing, shows it effortlessly whenever she picks up a pen—even in small moments, like drawing for events or games. Though she has chosen a different path in life, her natural ability continues to inspire me every day. My other sister runs her own small but reliable cake business, always experimenting, delighting customers, and showing care and creativity in everything she makes. My cousin, older than I am, brings crafts so unique that I often marvel at them, along with humor and lightness that remind me to bring joy into life.
Even my brother, though not focused on physical creations, teaches me about creativity in a different form: through storytelling, laughter, and the joy he brings to those around him. His wife has been an incredible rock for me over the years. She has encouraged me, asked the right questions, and helped me see reality clearly—a kind of guidance and care I had never experienced before. Her family has also been quietly supportive, and she shares her own love of crafts whenever she can, inspiring me further.
Together with Dave, we are lucky to be godparents to a beautiful, amazing niece. She inspires me to dream of a world that is brighter, more imaginative, and full of possibilities—a world she can grow up seeing as achievable. Through my craft, I hope to show her that whatever she puts her mind to, she can create and achieve. At the same time, I carry forward the dreams of my mother, who sacrificed so much so that her children could have a better life. Her dream for us—to thrive, to live fully, and to follow what we love rather than being consumed by a day job—is woven into everything I do. My craft is a way to honor that past, live my own dream, and inspire the next generation all at once.
Friends also inspire me in countless ways. Some have supported me by purchasing my handmade items, even though they could receive them for free for birthdays and special occasions, simply because they believe in my work and want me to succeed. Others bring unique ideas, new materials, or thoughtful suggestions, helping me see possibilities I hadn’t imagined. Their support, encouragement, and belief are gifts beyond measure, and I carry their energy and creativity into every piece I make.
Bringing all this love, memory, and knowledge from my roots to the UK, I create handmade pieces that carry intention, story, and individuality. Each accessory, hat, or beaded piece is more than just an object—it’s a vessel of care, imagination, and history. Even my cat toys are made with love: unlike mass-produced items, each is thoughtfully designed, tested by my cats, and infused with care, joy, and good wishes for the pets who play with them.
I am supported every step of the way by Dave, whose encouragement, belief, and partnership make this journey possible. His love and support allow me to explore creativity fully, take risks, and share my craft openly. Through my work, I aim to honor my family’s legacy, celebrate individuality, and create pieces that carry stories, love, and intention—small acts of rebellion against impersonal mass production.
Ultimately, my craft is about connection: to my past, to those I love, and to anyone who finds joy in holding or using something handmade. Each piece is a story, a memory, and a little piece of love passed forward, stitch by stitch, bead by bead, heart by heart. In doing so, I hope to inspire the next generation, showing that creativity, courage, and love can be carried forward—shaping lives, fulfilling dreams, and creating a world where possibilities are endless.
